The Blawg House's Bowl Preview - Part 2

Another day, another bowl game. Although I usually preview 3-4 per post, I figured I'd give the Beef "O" Brady's Bowl a little more love - since they're playing on my birthday.

Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl 

Florida International Golden Panthers (8-4, 5-3 Sun Belt) vs. Marshall Thundering Herd (6-6, 5-3 C-USA)

Preview: The player that everyone is going to be talking about is FIU's wideout T.Y. Hilton. The talented, multi-dimensional playmaker for the Golden Panthers has 950 yards receiving and 7 TD's on the year. He has helped lead the Panthers to their highest win total in the history of the program, and look for their first back-to-back bowl wins - actually, they're looking for their 2nd bowl win ever.

Pick: Marshall has a pretty average defense, and although they were 2nd in C-USA, I don't look for them to be very competitive in this game if FIU get it's run game going. If the Golden Panthers can run and create some space for Hilton to get open in the pass game, the Panthers should get their 2nd bowl win ever.

i gambled away my kid's christmas on this game, mainly in part to your confident prediction. DAMN YOU 6-6 Marshall!!!! kidding, didn't gamble any money, but i did put 24 points on this for my confidence league. MAJOR FAIL

Man, so did I. I really thought that was a "lock." FIU had played so well this year, but, man, did Hilton look average last night. I guess, that's why they play the games! Hopefully TCU and Boise will bounce me back up! Luckily, everyone else in my pool had FIU high as well!

no doubt. with TCU tonight, Boise tommorrow, then Southern Miss on Sat - there is a chance to cash in those values for the confidence league. The name of the game is cashing in on the sure-things. Although i figured San Diego State would demolish LA-Lafayette. Not a good bowl season so far.
